  1. Be Yourself

Who you are is this amazing expression of humanity.  The “authentic you” you bring to the table, doesn’t have to try to be something it isn’t.   You are who you are and you are good enough! Sure, we are all trying to grow and become the best at our craft, but be true to you, as you continue to grow.

2.    Life is all about Recommitments

Getting grounded in who you are helps you recommit to your work.  Every season was a new commitment.  Every game was a new commitment. Every day was a new commitment.  Every practice was a new commitment.  Giving yourself fully to the task right in front of you, will help you be the best you, more of the time.  Re-commit today to being the best you possible.  Do the same tomorrow and the day after that, that two degree shift, will pay off massive dividends in the long run.

3.    Have Fun

It’s been said, “Don’t take life too seriously, you will never get out alive.” Coach made an intense pressure packed world, fun.  There were games within the game.  You were graded at the end of each game on different measurables of enthusiasm.  If you got a mark for “Hawk Energy,” that was massive in communicating to the other 31 teams the style of play we had.  The good thing about having fun, is its in your control!

4.    Watch your Mouth

Every game was a championship matchup.  It didn’t matter if it was the third preseason game, or the night before a Super Bowl.  Our language didn’t change based on the circumstance.  The bible talks about how our words are a rudder of a ship, capable of running our lives aground or setting us out to sea.  If you have something to complain about, keep your mouth shut.  Culture is created through conversation.  Speak positivity, hope and life, if you want to direct your life towards success.

5.    Back to the Basics

In the big moments of life, you don’t have to do anything special.  It’s the reason the Seahawks are almost 90% in primetime games.  In those massive moments, we got back to the things which got us to the big moments.  For me that is my energy, enthusiasm, and work effort.  What are the fundamentals of your role you need to get back to?

6.    Don’t focus on the outcome

One major element of getting back to the basics is getting back to focusing on what you can control.  How much life have we wasted worrying about things we had no control over?  By fixing your attention on loving the process and trusting yourself, your preparation, and your team mates, the outcome takes care of itself[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][rs_buttons btn_color=”bg-blue” btn_style=”flat” btn_size=”btn-large” btn_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.clintgresham.com%2Fcontact%2F||target:%20_blank|” btn_text=”Invite Clint To Speak!”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
